HOPE AND SOCIAL – LIVE AT THE VICTORY HALL
+ Support from Boss Caine
Saturday 20th January 2018
Hope and Social are a band… but not just any band…
“Described as “one of the UK’s top five live bands” The Independent
Whether it’s the 8 piece band playing a blistering heart-on-your-sleeve festival set, collaborating with other artists at international arts festivals across the world, running large scale headline projects for the Yorkshire Festival, or taking 180 people to play on stage at Leeds Arena for a globally televised event!
Hope & Social are renowned for making every gig an event; a band who throw themselves wholeheartedly into every performance and perfectly bridges the gap between the stage and the audience. Anthemic songs, infectious melodies and a formidable live experience.
“Brilliant, uplifting and inclusive. That was amazing, here’s your cheque” Michael Eavis, Glastonbury Festival
Nine years, six albums, thousands of gigs, Glastonbury, Leeds Arena, and many a pub and front room up and down the country. A peoples’ band at heart, they involve their audiences in as many ways as possible; singing on their records, appearing in their videos and by always making their shows life-affirming experiences.
“Rousing. Joyous!” The Guardian
Boss Caine is the musical vehicle of hard living, permanently gigging, award winning songwriter, Daniel Lucas. The line up can be anything from one man and an acoustic guitar to a full rocking band with brass and strings. For this show he will have a band with him, and they will be showcasing songs from their much anticipated new album, ‘Loved by trouble, troubled by love’ due for release early 2018, as well as playing some live favourites. Lucas and his collective have supported the H&S boys on a number of occasions previously and always gone down a storm.
“Like Tom Waits singing Ryan Adams if they had both had the good fortune to grow up in Yorkshire!” – The Fly Magazine
“Stunning UK talent! Really something!!” – ‘Whispering’ Bob Harris (BBC Radio 2)
“Great stuff!” – Arlo Guthrie (folk legend and son of Woody Guthrie)
