Probably world-famous Leeds Band ‘Hope & Social’ are coming to Thorner with ‘The Band Anyone Can Join 2019’

One of the things many people say about Hope and Social is that they’re “good at that fan-engagement stuff”. In 2013 they created the first ‘A Band Anyone Can Join’: an ongoing, ever-expanding live band. They worked with youth groups, church groups, a hockey team, a theatre group…anyone who wanted to join…and brought Ukuleles, guitars, drums, horns and strings, hearts and souls, culminating in a performance at a packed Grassington Town Hall. High emotions and high hopes…an incredible project.

This year they’re bringing the ‘Band Anyone Can Join’ to Thorner Victory Hall, for a condensed version, packing 4 workshops into one afternoon, finishing off with a mini-gig for an audience of friends and family.

Whether you’re young, not so young, absolute beginner or an old hand, sign up for your pick of music workshops – Choir, Ukulele or Brass. Over the course of the afternoon you will learn to play in the band AND take part in the mini-gig at the end of the afternoon.

…And it’s FREE!!! Thanks to funding from Thorner Victory Hall and Thorner Community Choir. You just need to pick your workshop and register, as places are limited…
